Cartridge Launches Dojo 1.0
Cartridge announced the launch of Dojo 1.0, an open-source developer toolset and framework for building provable games and autonomous worlds using Cairo. To augment its launch, the firm is unveiling its flagship products: Controller and Slot.
Controller is a smart contract wallet that provides a seamless onboarding experience for modern gamers. Gamers can play a Controller-integrated game in seconds on desktop and mobile. On the other hand, Slot serves as a RaaS (Rollup-as-a-Service) that enables developers to scale their games efficiently, ensuring smooth gameplay experiences as the user base increases linearly.
The combined effect of Dojo, Slot, and Controller will provide the best ecosystem for building viable onchain games and autonomous worlds. Users will enjoy rapid, efficient game development tools, as well as scalable infrastructure for growing user bases and seamless player onboarding via desktop and mobile.
Developers have embraced these tools maximizing their creativity in building sustainable games. Rob Morris, Underware’s Founder stated: “Building on Starknet with Cairo and Dojo has been a huge enabler and accelerator for our work. Dojo is a fantastic framework that takes the heavy lifting out of some of the most complex aspects of our work, and the Cartridge team have been wonderful to work with.”
Interestingly, Cartridge has launched Dojo-built games like Loot Survivor, Paved and Dope Wars to introduce their infrastructure into the onchain gaming community.
Speaking on Dojo, Tarrence van As, the CEO of Cartridge said: “We have Dojo, which is the framework for defining fully onchain games — games where the entire state and logic lives on the chain — we have part of the team maintaining that. We’re also continuing to develop two different products we’ve built around that ecosystem: The Cartridge Controller, which deals with player identity and reputation, and Slot, our execution layer.”
Meanwhile, Nico Vereecke of BITKRAFT Ventures, a representative of the leading investor said: “The future of gaming is onchain, and Cartridge’s Dojo engine is at the forefront of this revolution. By providing developers with the necessary tools and a supportive ecosystem, Cartridge is enabling the creation of decentralized, community-owned games that are not only innovative, but also scalable. We are excited to support Cartridge in their mission to transform the gaming landscape.”
